Home Up Boudewijn Wegerif SANE

Boudewijn Wegerif is a South African economist who *walked* from Sweden to South Africa for two and a half years as his witness to the 'casino capitalism' that we are all experiencing. He is fluent in Swedish and has close links with the membership bank JAK that facilitates savings and loans for their clients, not shareholders.

His focus of late is on shaping a schooling for economies of love, in which, as he envisages it, "people move on from all forms of conditional exchange to the 'pure barter' of unconditional giving." If you want an explanation of what is meant by 'pure barter', e-mail Boudewijn at, and he will send you extracts from his book in progress for the schooling programme.

SANE is a remarkable non-governmental organisation that publishes an excellent e-newsletter.
